It's to provide assistance to those residents most in need as a result of the coronavirus epidemic.

The Hub set up by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council in collaboration with Warwickshire CAVA will provide assistance to the most vulnerable residents identified by the NHS on their ‘shielding’ list.

They will also be taking referrals through the Communities Team for other vulnerable residents who aren’t on the list but who also require support.

All of the residents on the NHS shielding list will be contacted by the NHS directly.

A team of staff at the Hub are also packaging food and carrying out deliveries.

At present the Hub will deliver food parcels to residents with a view to arranging deliveries directly from wholesalers in the longer term.

Councillor Julie Jackson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council said: “It is great news that we have now set up the Hub and are directing help to those residents who are most in need. We have a team of dedicated staff who are working hard to package and deliver the food and are determined to provide as much assistance as possible for those residents who are most vulnerable.

“Rest assured we will continue to work closely with our dedicated community and volunteer groups to do our very best to provide all the help we can to our residents at this most distressing time.”
