CR Civil Engineering Ltd remove cabinets.

A Loughborough business has helped the Carillon Memorial Trust.

CR Civil Engineering Ltd offered to remove large cabinets for free after the trust reached out to local businesses.

The museum is to reopen at Easter after the Trust was told their bid for 80 thousand pounds from the Heritage Lottery Fund was unsuccessful.

Mel Gould, chairman of the Loughborough Carillon Tower and War Memorial Museum said: "“We are really grateful to the team at CR Civil Engineering Ltd for their help and support in removing the old and very large cabinets, but especially to the three employees who did the physical work with such enthusiasm.

“We’re looking forward to opening again to the public and will continue to make some small improvements in the meantime.”

The trust will now give the rooms a fresh coat of paint and installing new carpets before opening during the Easter holidays.

Cllr Jenny Bokor, the Council’s lead member for Loughborough said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to CR Civils for helping the trust with removing the cabinets.
“I’m pleased to see the museum making improvements where they can while they submit a new funding bid. I look forward to seeing the museum open again in the next few months.”

Carl Roberts, managing director of CR Civil Engineering Ltd said: “CR Civil Engineering Ltd are flattered to be invited to give something back to the area. As a business we fully understand the importance of our corporate social responsibility and since locating to Loughborough in 2013 we have been happy to assist with projects in the local community. “We’re thankful to the community giving us these opportunities which have contributed and enabled CR Civil Engineering to win awards such as the Midlands Employer of the Year and Considerate Contractors.”
