Carillon was released on 29th October

A duo from Loughborough have released a new charity single to mark the anniversary of 100 years since the end of the First World War.

Chris Coupe and Tom Brewster completed the song two years ago after it was initially written in the 1980s.

Chris told us: "It was around 1980, while at work at Herbert Morris Ltd Loughborough, that I had the idea to write the song Carillon, about the Loughborough War memorial in Queens Park. That day I hastily wrote the lyrics on a sheet of headed paper."

Eventually, after getting together with Tom Brewster, the song "Carillon" was recorded and completed.

The pair decided to launch Songgivers, with a view to donating income raised from our songs to various charities. Help for Heroes was chosen as the first beneficiary.

Tom said, "We hope you all go out and buy the song and, for our part, we guarantee all the income we receive from sales of the song will go to Help for Heroes and the superb work they do to support our wounded soldiers."
