Clap for carers

People came out of their homes in the Fosse 107 area last night for the second week to applaud those working on the frontline of the pandemic.

The floodlights at County Hall also turned blue and green.

The council’s headquarters in Glenfield were lit as a mark of gratitude and appreciation for NHS staff, county council staff, and all the other key workers across the county.

Council in blue

Nick Rushton, Leader of the County Council said: "Supporting the most vulnerable remains our top priority and I’d particularly like to thank those staff who work in social care – who are absolutely at the front line, working tirelessly alongside our colleagues in the NHS.

I asked for the building to be lit blue for the NHS and green for our own social care staff."
