Firefighters from Shepshed visited a boy called Tommy who was injured in a crash on 12th December.

They visited him with gifts as he recovered at home after spending over a week at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

A post on the Shepshed Fire Crews facebook said: "The whole team at Shepshed Fire Station decided they wanted to do something special and wanted to surprise Tommy and his brothers Calum and Jake with some gifts 🎁 . Unfortunately 🎅🏻 was busy preparing and making last minute checks for Christmas Eve, so instead S28P2 🚒 and some of our firefighters (not elves) made the special delivery."

Following the incident we decided to raise some money 💰 for our local air ambulance and the firefighters charity.

The firefighters have launched an online fundraising page, to help raise money for the service in 2021.

Yesterday we made a special visit, to a very brave little boy. Tommy was hit and run over by a vehicle on 12th December and sustained serious injuries. He is making a great recovery and has only recently returned home just in time for Christmas🎄 after spending over a week at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust Two of our firefighters assisted, giving Tommy medical care along with members of the public until a crew from Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR arrived along with crews from East Midlands Ambulance 🚑 and Leicestershire Police 🚓 The whole team at Shepshed Fire Station decided they wanted to do something special and wanted to surprise Tommy and his brothers Calum and Jake with some gifts 🎁 . Unfortunately 🎅🏻 was busy preparing and making last minute checks for Christmas Eve, so instead S28P2 🚒 and some of our firefighters (not elves) made the special delivery. Following the incident we decided to raise some money 💰 for our local air ambulance and the firefighters charity.
