They returned home from the British Universities and Colleges Sport National Championships with 30 medals and five broken records.

After some blistering performances, Loughborough’s impressive team secured a total of 11 gold, 13 silver, and six bronzes, blowing away a competitive field.

Wattel was joined by Candice Hall, Emily Crane, and Abbie Wood in the 4 x 100m Freestyle with each swimmer contributing to a storming victory.

Elsewhere, Abbie Wood’s stunning swim in the 200m Individual Medley set a new BUCS record whilst she also secured another gold in the 200m Freestyle.

Luke Greenbank was also in red hot form, crushing the competition with a new BUCS record in the 200m Backstroke and he also touched the wall first in the 100m Backstroke.

Joe Litchfield secured a brilliant double gold in the 100m Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley respectively, whilst Emily Crane’s strong swim in the 50m Freestyle saw her take first place.
