Loughborough Fair rolls back into town on Wednesday 7th November... here's all the details you need
The fair will be in Loughborough town centre for four days and it will be packed with a variety of funfair rides for all ages.
The historic fair, which is in its 797th year, is organised by Charnwood Borough Council and attracts thousands of people every year.
Cllr Jenny Bokor, Charnwood Borough Council’s lead member for Loughborough, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting Loughborough Fair once again and I am sure many, many people will come to town to enjoy it.
“We’ll have rides, stalls and games and it’s a great family occasion.
“It’s incredible to think this tradition has been going for nearly 800 years in Loughborough and we look forward to it continuing long into the future.”
The fair will include a host of rides including Magic Mouse, Top Scan, King Frog, Extreme, Sky Bomber, Freak Out, Golden Gallopers, Miami Trip and the Jumbo Circus fun house, one of the largest mobile fun houses in the country.
The fair will be officially opened at 6pm on Wednesday, November 7 by the Mayor of Charnwood, Cllr Christine Harris who will read the official fair proclamation.
Granby Street car park will be closed from 5pm on Monday, November 5 until around 9am on Sunday, November 11. On that day it will only be partially open due to events to mark November 11 in the town centre.

Fair opening times:
- Wednesday, November 7, 6pm to 11pm
- Thursday, November 8, 12pm to 11pm
- Friday, November 9, 11am to 11pm
- Saturday, November 10, 11am to 11pm
The first official Charter for the fair was granted to the Lord of the Manor, Hugh le Despencer, in 1221 by King Henry III. The fair was then held on St. Peter’s Day.
