Voting for the people's choice green flag award is open

Loughborough's parks are going head to head to be named as one of the most popular green spaces in the country.

Five parks in and around Loughborough are up against some of the best parks in the country to find that nation's favourite green spaces.

Queens park, Forest Road Green Belt, The Outwoods, Beacon Hill Country Park and Stafford Orchard Park in Quorn are competing in the online People's Choice Award, which gives the public the power to decide the top 10 parks from the 1,797 Green Flag Award sites.

Queen's Park is a focal point in Loughborough and was created in June 1897 in recognition of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Over the years it has been redesigned and modified to facilitate changes in play and disabled access.
