At around 11.50pm on Tuesday 5th November a member of the public reported seeing three people at the stand-alone machine on Knightthorpe Road.

It is believed hydraulic equipment was used to gain access to the machine before the suspects left the area, at speed, in a car parked nearby.

The car is thought to be an Audi S5 and a panel van may also have been involved in the incident.

Officers attended the scene and have commenced their enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A scene preservation that was in place at the location to allow for an investigation of the scene has since been removed.

Detective Constable Del Gillespie is the investigating officer, he said: “Despite the damage done to the ATM the suspects left empty-handed.

“Our enquiries are in the initial stages and we would like to hear from anyone who has information about what happened.

“Were you woken by a lot of noise shortly before midnight? Did you witness either a car or a panel van in the area at around that time? Do you know who was responsible?

“If you can help we’d like to hear from you.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 827 of 5 November.
