Get together with the girls for a night of fun and exercise

Women in Charnwood can enjoy an evening of fun and exercise whilst also raising money for charity on Friday August 16.

The Charity Girls Night Out is organised by the borough Council’s Active Charnwood team as part of the This Girl Can campaign.

This Girl Can is a national campaign developed by Sport England which aims to celebrate active women and encourage people to take up a new sport or activity.

Money raised will be donated to local charity Living Without Abuse. The charity supports women, men and children that have been affected by domestic abuse.

Cllr Deborah Taylor, lead member for communities said: “The charity night is a chance to get together with you family or friends and have fun whilst exercising.

“It’s a great opportunity to try out a new activity whilst helping to raise money for a good cause. The event has been popular in previous years, so I hope it’s another fun night out for everyone who attends.”

The event is for women aged 16 and over and is being held at Charnwood College, Thorpe Hill, Loughborough from 6-9pm.

There will be a range of activity taster sessions to choose from including Konga, Boogie Bounce, Zumba, Netball Now, Yoga, Bangra Blaze, Burlesque and Bubble Football.

Tickets are £7.50 and include a T-shirt to wear on the night.

There will also be stalls available providing information on health and wellbeing or people can pamper themselves by booking in for a massage, body glitter or visiting the nail bar.

Book a place by visiting https://www.charnwood.gov.uk/this_girl_can or for more information call 01509 632534.
