Finding out about adult learning courses, making friends and chatting with others over coffee will all be part of a series of free community mornings being held on Thursday mornings at Coalville Library.
The coffee mornings are being put on by the county council's adult learning service with the aim of bringing people together, giving them a chance to chat and having a go at free learning activities.
Each session will include a 30-minute activity giving a taste of the GoLearn curriculum, with a different activity each week. Tasters include skills for life, learning Italian, British Sign language, tile painting and mindfulness.
The free sessions run from 10.30am-12noon each Thursday until the end of May at Coalville Library. If they prove popular, they could become a permanent feature – and even be set up in other venues across the county.
To show his support for the coffee mornings, Councillor Ozzy O’Shea, county council chairman, will be going along to the session on Thursday, 7th February, where he will be trying his hand at learning Italian.
The aim of the coffee mornings is to bring people together, help build links in the Coalville community and to give people the chance to try out some of the many opportunities available from our GoLearn courses. I would encourage anyone interested in making new friends or taking up a new skill or interest to go along
