Charnwood's Armed Forces Day 2025

Charnwood is proud to once again stand in support of our service personnel with a family-friendly, community-focused celebration in the heart of Queens Park in Loughborough.

Armed Forces Day is a moment to honour the incredible men and women of the Armed Forces – from current serving troops, service families and veterans, to cadets representing the future. Come along and say thank you while enjoying a packed programme of displays, entertainment and activities.

Everyone – bring your family, friends, neighbours and even your dog (on a lead, please).

What to Expect
Military displays and vehicles
See impressive military vehicles and equipment up close. You’ll have the chance to chat with serving personnel and veterans who’ll be sharing their experiences and stories.

Community and information stalls
Browse a variety of stalls showcasing the work of local groups, charities, veterans’ services, cadet organisations and support networks.

Market area
Shop from a brilliant range of traders, offering handcrafted items, military memorabilia, patriotic gifts, and local produce.

Live performances and music
Enjoy a lively programme of entertainment on the stage and throughout the park, featuring:

Keep your eyes peeled for pop-up performances around the park too!
Yummy food and refreshments
Tuck into some delicious street food or grab a classic ice cream as you take in the atmosphere. There’ll be a range of options for all tastes – from hot snacks to family favourites.

Bring the little ones along for fun games, themed crafts, and interactive activities with a military twist.

A moment of respect
At 12.30pm, we'll pause for a short tribute and moment of reflection to honour those who have served and continue to serve our country. Join us for a few words, music and applause as we pay our respects.

Travel and Parking
Queens Park is just a short walk from Loughborough town centre car parks. Please consider public transport, walking or cycling where possible.

Facilities
Toilets (including accessible toilets) are available on-site for a fee. Public toilets information.

First Aid support will also be present throughout the event.
