Wymeswold Duck Races and Waddle

The five-mile Wymeswold Waddle road-race will kick off the day’s proceedings at 10.30am and the whole of Narrow Lane will be closed off as the runners head off on the undulating out-and-back course to Six Hills. It’s licensed by UK Athletics and open to any runners aged 15 and over.

After the Waddle there’s also a family Ducking Dash at 11.30am which is open to juniors under the age of 15.

Following the running events, the Duck Races get underway at 12.30pm as Wymeswold’s team of racing ducks do battle on the River Mantle.

There’s four betting races, where visitors can win money by correctly backing the winning duck for each race.
New this year will be a themed 2026 World Cup race, where 46 ducks with flags for each nation taking part in the World Cup will compete for the top honours. The ticket holder for the winning duck will receive two Ragdale Hall Spa vouchers.


On top of that there will be the Wymeswold Pre-School Puddleduck Regatta and also the annual challenge between the various businesses in Wymeswold.

For children there’s the ‘Tough Ducker’ challenges with obstacles to overcome for each age group.

There’s lots of other attractions too including live music from Josh Kemp, fantastic interactive drumming sessions with Bloco Transcultural, information stands, a BBQ and a host of other stands.

All profits generated from the Duck Races and Waddle are distributed to local charities and voluntary groups.
