Three people have been injured.
UPDATE 14:00: The road has reopened.
UPDATE 11:30: The A47 between Dodwells Roundabout and Roston Drive is still closed as police work to clear the scene. The McDonalds is also closed.
There are queues building on the A47 southbound, with trucks having to divert via Brodick Rd and Thirlmere Rd.
The car is still on the scene.
Leicestershire Police have issued the following statement:
“Just after 3am today (Tuesday 24 August) police were called to a report of a single-vehicle collision on the A47 Dodwells Road in Hinckley.
“Officers attended along with colleagues from the ambulance service and three occupants - two women and a man - were taken to the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire.
”Both the A5 and A47 were closed from the nearby roundabout. The A5 has since reopened but the A47 Dodwells Road remains closed from the roundabout at this time.
“One woman is being treated for injuries that are believed to be life-threatening. The other two occupants have suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.
“A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and enquiries are continuing.”
