Monday 2nd March marks a key date on the calendar for families across the Midlands as National Offer Day arrives. This is the day when secondary school places are confirmed for thousands of children moving up to the next stage of their education in August/September 2026.
For many parents and carers in the county, the moment brings a mix of excitement and nerves — but it also provides clarity and opportunities to plan for the year ahead.
What Is National Offer Day?
National Offer Day is the date when local authorities across England release school place offers to families who applied during the admissions window.
-
Families of children moving to Year 7 (secondary school) will receive their secondary school place.
These offers are based on preferences submitted during the application period, and decisions are made according to admissions criteria set by each school and the local authority.
Parents of children applying for primary school will receive their offers on Thursday 16th April.
