The site has been closed since Saturday 14th August.
Shepshed tip remains closed until further notice as Leicestershire County Council continue to search for more drivers and site staff.
In the midst of the 'pingdemic' and the ongoing national shortage of lorry drivers, the Council chose to close the waste centre for the weekend of the 14th -15th August.
Over three weeks later the site remains closed, 'until further notice.'
A spokesperson for the Council told Fosse 107, "We are trying to recruit drivers and site staff to allow it to reopen as soon as possible."
Thankfully no further sites have been affected by the shortage of staff, but the council warned in August they could be forced to close others.
