Battle of Britain Memorial Service

198 Squadron Hinckley Air Cadets are organising a Battle of Britain memorial service at the town's War Memorial in Argents Mead on Sunday 14th September 2025 starting at 11.45 am. This event was last held some 5 years ago, following the death of the previous organiser, a former RAF service member. The cadets and staff at Hinckley's 198 Squadron decided that they should bring this important commemoration back to the town, in this, the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. They will be joined by the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, the Mayor & Mayoress of Hinckley, Veterans, the Royal British Legion Hinckley & Burbage, representatives from the Emergency Services, local councillors and members of the public who will all have the opportunity to lay wreaths or other floral tributes during the service of Remembrance.
