The bench was given by Eggleston Steel to mark the hospital's role in fighting the pandemic.
The Derby-based company has provided benches to eight local hospitals in the area they deliver to.
Managing Director of the company, Richard Hewitt, said, "We took the decision to provide the benches a few months ago...to show our support and appreciation of everything they've gone through in the last 18 months."
“It was a privilege to provide a lasting monument to many of the hospitals locally. I really hope that it allows patients and staff alike to rest and reflect whilst using them in the hospital grounds."

Since March 2020 Leicestershire Partnership Trust, which manages the hospital, has seen 490 patients admitted with COVID-19 according to the Government.
Loughborough Hospital closed an emergency ward earlier this year as the number of patients declined due to the lockdown. It is able to re-open should numbers increase again.
