East Midlands Ambulance confirmed it was called at 3:36pm to Bosworth Water Park after reports a child had got in to difficulty in the water.
Police and medics were called to the Leicestershire beauty spot on the hottest day of the year to reports of a medical emergency.
A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said:
"Police were called at around 3.45pm today (Thursday) by the East Midlands Ambulance Service reporting their attendance at Bosworth Water Park.
Officers attended where it is believed a child had got into difficulty in the water.
The boy was brought out and was conscious and talking to paramedics.
He has been taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary as a precaution.
The Air Ambulance was also at the scene."
In a statement EMAS said:
"We received a call at 3.36pm today, 25 June to Wellesborough Road, Market Bosworth to assist with a medical emergency. We sent a paramedic in an ambulance car, a crewed ambulance and the air ambulance and transported one patient to Leicester Royal Infirmary via land ambulance."
Bosworth Water Trust posted a short statement on the park's facebook page shortly afterwards confirming the incident.
A spokesperson said: "We are unable to offer any further statements and we respectfully ask you all to refer to the police press releases for any further information required."
