Appeal after bulldog stolen in Hinckley

Police investigating the theft of an American bulldog are appealing for anyone who knows of her whereabouts to come forward.

The puppy, called Hebe, was taken from a car parked at a supermarket in Cloverfield, Hinckley between 2.20pm and 2.40pm on Wednesday 28 August.

Hebe’s owners had gone into the supermarket, leaving both her and another dog in their red Ford Focus. When they returned, they found that Hebe had been taken.

PC Sam Eaton, the investigating officer, is urging anyone who witnessed the incident – or has information about where Hebe may be – to make contact.

He said: “I would like to speak to anyone who believes they may have information about Hebe’s disappearance to come forward.

“Please cast your mind back to last Wednesday afternoon. Were you in the supermarket car park? Did you see anyone approach a red Ford Focus? Did you see anyone carrying a dog like the one pictured?

“Hebe has distinctive markings and I would also ask anyone who has seen or been offered a dog for sale that looks like her. I would also ask people in Hinckley – as well as across Leicestershire and Rutland – to keep an eye out for Hebe.

“Any details you have could help with my investigation.”
