A shopkeeper was threatened with a hammer at premises in Mill Lane.
Just after 4pm on 19 June, a shopkeeper was threatened with a hammer at premises in Mill Lane.
The shopkeeper – a man in his 70s – was not injured during the incident. However, the suspect took his mobile phone so he could not call for help.
From police enquiries, it is believed a woman who was passing the shop at the time may have information that can help. She was wearing a long, blue sleeveless top over black leggings.
Detective Constable Roseanna Cockerill-Smith, the investigating officer, said: “I believe the woman who can be seen in the footage we have obtained may have information that can help our investigation and that she will have seen the incident unfold.
“I’m appealing directly for her to come forward and make contact with us so we can speak to her about it. If that person was you, please do get in touch.
“Likewise I’d also like to take the opportunity to ask for anyone who was in the area but has not spoken to police to contact us. Anything you’re able to tell us could help.”
