The former Coventry City footballer, Ashley Cain, who lives in Nuneaton shared a message on social media about baby Azaylia.
Azaylia was eight months old and had been diagnosed with leukaemia.
Cain shared an image on Instagram and the caption read: "Rest in Paradise Princess"
Ashley and his partner Safiyya Vorajee have been sharing their daughter's journey on social media.
The couple raised money to take Azalylia to Singapore for treatment, but were later told there was nothing more that doctors could do to help her. Earlier this week, council buildings in Nuneaton were lit up in orange in support of the family and a number of ribbons were tied to the bridge near the George Eliot Hospital. Hundreds of fans have been leaving messages of condolence on social media.
