This means that planned events at the venue will have to be moved.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council are working to extend the licence at Bedworth Civic Hall so that it can be used as a vaccination centre for another 12 months.

Although no final decision has been made yet the council wants to continue supporting the NHS in the vaccine programme.

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust are currently administering the jabs at the Civic Hall.

Councillor Sue Markham, portfolio holder for public services at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, said: “No formal decision has been taken yet, but we are making final arrangements necessary to extend the licence so that Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust can continue to operate Bedworth Civic Hall as a vaccination centre for another 12 months, through to March 2023.

“It is vitally important that as many people as possible get their vaccination completely up to date, and we know the Civic Hall has already played a huge part in helping fight the virus in our Borough.

“We appreciate this will cause disruption for planned events at the venue, but at present, we are focused on how best we support the NHS to deliver this vital vaccination programme. We will of course keep people informed.”
