Homes are without clean water in parts of Leicestershire after a burst water mains in Desford and Leicester Road, near Earl Shilton
Severn Trent confirmed to Fosse 107 that they were dealing with two separate issues on the network which were causing problems to customers in the Fosse 107 area.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: "By 9am this morning, water was back on the majority of customers in the Desford area. Our teams worked fast to restore supplies and are now fixing the burst pipe. A small number of people may have low pressure or discoloured water but this will return to normal soon.
"Separately, there's a burst pipe on Leicester Road close to Earl Shilton. Our team is on site and working under a road closure to fix the burst. We'd like to thank people for their understanding whilst we return water supplies and area back to normal."
Fosse 107 understands that at 4pm 25 customers have no water in Desford while the repairs are taking place.
It comes as Leicestershire Police said it was assisting with a road closure in Desford in the morning as part of the outage.
Severn Trent, the water supplier, issued an update at 12:52pm :
Following on from our previous update, we’re really sorry if you’re still experiencing no supply, poor pressure or discoloured water due to the burst water pipe in the LE9 and CV13 areas of Leicester and Nuneaton
Our teams are working hard to get your water flowing again, but the repair is taking us a little longer than we first anticipated. We will provide you with a further update by 5pm.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.
Fosse 107 has also been contacted by residents in Hinckley who have said their water pressure is affected.
