Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council said the new test centre was due to open in December and local people would be able to book tests at the site in the coming weeks.
To book a Covid 19 test, you can call 119 or go to http://nhs.uk/coronavirus to book a test if you have COVID symptoms - high temperature, continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.
The site on Druid Street is the first testing centre in Hinckley after recent centres came online Coalville.
Meanwhile, the vaccination programme is due to start in Leicestershire on 12th December after a patient at The University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire became the first person in the world to receive the vaccine outside of a clinical trial.
