Charnwood Museum in Loughborough is to remain closed until later this summer.
It's while plans are put together to make the venue Covid-19 secure.
The Borough Council says they're is working with Leicestershire County Council on the plans and it's hoped the attraction will open again in August.
One-way systems are currently being considered to ensure visitors can follow social distancing and protective screens are also being installed to ensure the safety of staff.
The borough council also says it's also anticipated some activities and experiences where people touch items may need to be significantly adapted or changed to adhere to the current guidelines.
