A 12-year-old child has died following a road traffic collision in Loughborough yesterday evening. (13th Nov)
Officers were called at around 7.10pm on Tuesday (13 November) to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a blue Ford Fiesta, on Meadow Lane close to its junction with Waterside Close.
The pedestrian, a 12-year-old boy, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with serious injuries where he later died.
The driver of the Fiesta was not injured.
Meadow Lane was closed until the early hours while emergency services were in attendance at the incident.
Detective Constable Seamus Burns is appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to get in touch.
He said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision or the events leading up to it to please contact me. Alternatively motorists who may have dash cam footage which could assist our investigation, I would urge them to give me a call.”
