Heart failure is a significant issue in the area with an estimated 14,000 people living with heart and circulatory diseases in Nuneaton and Bedworth
Patients diagnosed with heart failure in North Warwickshire can now access care at a brand-new community Heart Failure service.
Clinics previously held at George Eliot Hospital have relocated to the brand-new, purpose-built healthcare facility at Hartshill Health Centre
The NHS says this move will allow more patients to attend essential follow-up clinics.
Heart failure is a significant issue in the area with an estimated 14,000 people living with heart and circulatory diseases in Nuneaton and Bedworth and around 1,400 diagnosed with heart failure by their GP.
The community service will also provide a home visiting service for those unable to attend the new clinic and support patients who need continued care at home.
Emma West-Eggar, Heart Failure Service Nurse Lead and Advanced Clinical Practitioner, said: “This new clinic will help us to wrap care around our patients, giving them essential community care which can be vital to helping with long term health outcomes.
“This is an exciting extension to the brand-new community heart failure cardiac rehabilitation service last month.”
