The deadline for entries is 31 July 2025.
Council tenants and leaseholders of all ages are being invited to express their creativity in a new competition.
The question, aimed at inspiring potential entrants is: ‘What makes you happy?’
It could be a view, a favourite place to walk your dog, a childhood memory. If it makes you happy, let it be your creative guide.
Councillor Colin Hamilton, the Council’s lead member for planning and housing, said: “Charnwood is home to so many creative and talented individuals, and this competition is a fantastic way for our tenants and leaseholders to showcase their skills.
“The entries in last year’s competitions were of such a high standard and you could see how much effort people had put into their creative works.
“I can’t wait to see the inspiring entries that reflect what makes people happy in our fantastic community.”
With categories catering to different age groups and artistic disciplines, the competition offers a fantastic opportunity for Council tenants to share their talents.
The categories are:
- Creative writing – aged 10 and under
- Creative writing – 11-18 years
- Creative writing – over 18 years
- Photography, arts and crafts – aged 10 and under
- Photography, arts and crafts – 11-18 years

The deadline for entries is 31 July 2025.
