They had to try and coax it back into its field.
Yesterday emergency services received a report of a calf stuck between a canal boat and the bank of the Grand Union Canal on Moor Lane.
Two crews from Loughborough, one from Birstall, and a Technical Rescue Team from Southern Station went to rescue to large animal from the water.
When Leicestershire Fire and Rescue arrived they found the calf standing up in the water and requested help from a vet.
The Fire Service used strops to rescue the calf and the team then manage to coax it back into its field.
