Rarely seen private photographs on loan from his nephew are also part of the exhibition.
An exhibition called "Wiv Luv Larry” opens at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery this Saturday (15th July).
The space will be dedicated to Nuneaton’s comic legend Larry Grayson and visitors will be able to learn about his life in Larry’s own words, featuring the letters he wrote to superfan Pauline as well as numerous images and ephemera collected by Margaret Kane.
The exhibition will also feature his big red book from 'This is Your Life', and a bow tie interactive area.
Rarely seen private photographs on loan from his nephew Mike Malyon are also part of the exhibition.
Mr Malyon said: “I find it amazing that my late great-uncle would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year because, to me, his memory is still very much alive.
“This is a lovely tribute to a man, born William Sully White, who arrived in Nuneaton as a babe in arms, went to school in Abbey Green, started out as a 14-year-old club entertainer under the stage name of Billy Breen and then found national TV fame as Larry Grayson.
“He would have been honoured and delighted by this exhibition, especially as it is taking place in the park he loved to visit, walking his pet poodle.”
The newest development in Abbey Street is named Grayson Place in homage to the entertainer.
Cllr Sue Markham, Portfolio Holder for Public Services at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, said: “Everybody is welcome to come along to the Nuneaton Museum & Art gallery to see the great exhibition of Larry Grayson which is an example of his works.
“Larry was a Nuneaton icon, bringing laughter and happiness into people’s homes and appearing on many TV shows, this is to celebrate his 100th anniversary.’’
