A man in his thirties has died after a crash in Loughborough
It happened shortly after midnight (17th May) on the A6 Ashby Road.
A red BMW 5 series which was travelling towards the town centre, left the road before colliding with street furniture and a wall which in turn damaged five unattended parked cars.
The driver, a man in his thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for seven hours while officers responded at the scene. It has since been reopened.
Detective Constable John Borlase, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation unit, said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand to get on touch. Alternatively anyone who have dashcam footage relating to the collision, is asked to make contact with the police.”
