This year’s Community Heroes Day is on August 12 in Loughborough.
The event, run by Charnwood Borough Council in partnership with John Storer Charnwood, gives groups the chance to promote their work to residents, to network and learn about other local projects.
It will be run alongside Loughborough by the Sea, which is organised by Love Loughborough.
Cllr Deborah Taylor, lead member for communities, said: “Our annual Community Heroes Day recognises and celebrates the hard work of our local groups.
“It also gives residents a chance to find out more about what’s going on in their area and how to get involved.”
Community Heroes Day will take place from 10am to 4pm in Market Place on Sunday, August 12.
The event will also be used to launch the Community Heroes Awards.
Residents are encouraged to nominate people who they feel have made a real difference in the lives of local people and the community.
Please keep an eye on the Council website www.charnwood.gov.uk/communityheroes for more information on how to nominate your community hero.
A ceremony will be held later in the year to celebrate the community heroes who have been nominated.
