A flood alert is in place for the area around the Lower River Soar for today (Tuesday 12 December).
Slash Lane and the Mountsorrel to Sileby road are expected to flood due to rising river levels near the Pillings Lock. Heavy rain is also forecast for the next 48 hours. People are advised to avoid low-lying roads near rivers and plan their journeys in advance.
