"This investment – M&S’ biggest single renewal investment to date – will mean we can create a brand defining store here in Leicestershire."
M&S has unveiled details about the extension and renewal of its store at Fosse Park.
The news comes a week after it was announced that the clothing retailer was closing its Leicester Gallowtree Gate shop.
The work at Fosse Park is the retailer’s biggest single investment in a renewal store to date will see its store extended from 88.5k sq ft to over 100k sq ft by taking over the adjacent unit.
Once the expansion is complete there will be a bigger, brand new fresh market-style foodhall including an improved in-store bakery, dedicated Flower Shop, Wine Shop and cheese barge, alongside Mai Sushi and hot chicken counters.
Andy Frith, Store Manager at Fosse Park, said: “We want to deliver a brilliant shopping experience for our customers and the very best of M&S. This investment – M&S’ biggest single renewal investment to date – will mean we can create a brand defining store here in Leicestershire. The store team and I are incredibly excited about the transformation and we can’t wait to show customers the new Womenswear department this week and all the changes we have planned between now and Autumn!”
Work is underway at the site and is expected to finish this Autumn – the store will remain open throughout, with different departments transformed gradually.
