Armed Forces veterans are being invited to a free breakfast event in Leicestershire.
Leicestershire’s Big Breakfast on Saturday April 27 will bring together a hundred veterans to enjoy a free breakfast.
The event which is being held at the Morningside Arena in Leicester has been organised by Victoria Coomber, the armed forces community covenant development officer for Charnwood, Melton and Rushcliffe councils.
Victoria said: “The Council is committed to supporting the armed forces and events like this give former servicemen and women a chance to get together and share their experience and stories over breakfast.
“The Armed Forces Covenant encourages understanding and awareness of the issues affecting serving personnel and veterans within the local community. Leicestershire’s Big Breakfast is just a small part of our work within the community.”
Family members and friends are also invited to join the breakfast for a small charge of £7.50.
Leicestershire’s Big Breakfast is kindly being supported by the Veterans Pension Agency Committee and the Morningside Arena.
The event will take place on Saturday April 27, 9.30-11.30am at Morningside Arena, Charter Street. Leicester, LE1 3UD. People interested in attending can book a place by contacting Victoria on victoria.coomber@talk21.comor 07540454838.
Charnwood Borough Council signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2017 and works in partnership with Melton and Rushcliffe Council to support former and serving personnel in the area.
