A judges’ award was also presented to the volunteers at Rectory Wildlife Garden in Loughborough.

Loughborough’s open spaces have struck gold once again in the East Midlands in Bloom awards for 2025.

Loughborough in Bloom scored 95 points out of 100, so it was also the winner in the Small City category.

Pat Cook, chair of Loughborough in Bloom, said: “We are delighted to have won gold once again at the East Midlands in Bloom awards.

“This is testament to all the hard work that volunteers and partners put in across the year to make sure Loughborough looks its absolute best.

“A huge thank you to everyone on the Loughborough in Bloom board and all those involved in gaining this award.”

A judges’ award was also presented to the volunteers at Rectory Wildlife Garden in Loughborough for creating a place of tranquillity from a previously overgrown area, encouraging wildlife and introducing interesting sculptures.

Cllr Anne Gray, the Council’s lead member for open spaces, said: “I am so pleased that we have been recognised once again for our open spaces in Loughborough.

“We are incredibly proud of our parks and green spaces across Loughborough and the whole borough. With the help of partners, volunteers and community groups we make sure that they are maintained to the highest standards.”
