A Hinckley businesswoman is preparing to open the doors to her very own high street shop after winning a competition that gave her 12 months’ rent-free space.
Danielle Dunn, founder of independent self-care brand Divine Box, won the competition at the Britannia Shopping Centre, securing a permanent retail unit along with a business support package worth up to £35,000.
Now her new store is ready to open to the public for the first time this Saturday 3rd October.
The shop, in Unit 4 at Britannia Shopping Centre, will sell hundreds of handmade products created by Divine Box, including bath bombs, soaps, shower bombs and luxury wax melts.
Danielle founded Divine Box after moving into retail following a career in healthcare and community care.
She said winning the competition and being given the opportunity to have her own physical shop was a dream come true.
“Winning Shop Star at Britannia Shopping Centre was such an incredible honour, and opening our permanent physical doors is the perfect next step,” she said.
“We’ve built a wonderful community online and locally. Having a space where people can walk in, sample our products, and experience Divine Box in person is a dream come true.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone on October 3rd.”
The opening day will begin at 10am with a ribbon cutting, followed by the chance for shoppers to explore the new store.
There will be plenty going on throughout the day, with the first 20 customers receiving a free bath bomb.
Everyone who visits will also receive a free raffle ticket, giving them the chance to win a Divine Box voucher.
A local face painter will be at the launch, while Divine Box will also be showcasing products from other local businesses.
Danielle’s success comes after Divine Box was named the winner of the shopping centre’s competition, which was designed to give an independent business the opportunity to establish itself on the high street.
The new shop will give customers the chance to see and smell the products in person, as well as browse the range of handmade self-care gifts.
The doors to Divine Box will open at 10am on Saturday, October 3, at Unit 4, Britannia Shopping Centre, Hinckley.
