A man has been arrested by police on suspicion of rape following an incident in Nuneaton at the weekend.
A teenage woman reported she was raped in a field near to Goldsmith's way in the early hours of Sunday (20 May) morning.
The 24-year-old man from Nuneaton was arrested on Sunday afternoon on suspicion of rape. He has been bailed until the middle of June while enquiries continue.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who has information that could help with their enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Carl Buckley said: "The two met earlier in the night after they had both been out in the town. At some point between 4am and 6am it was reported the offender raped the woman in a field near to Goldsmiths Way on the Eliot Retail Park.
"We are carrying out a full investigation and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, saw either the suspect or victim earlier in the night, or has any other information that could help with our enquiries."
