Police were called at 11am after reports of a man making threats to others.
Leicestershire Police have issued a statement regarding the closure of Druid Street in Hinckley (18 September).
Officers said a 52-year-old man from Hinckley has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of weapons and currently is in police custody.
The full statement from Leicestershire Police:
"Officers were called at 11am today (Weds) to Druid Street, Hinckley regarding a report of a man making threats to others.
Police attended the scene and carried out enquiries which included a search of a property in the street.
During this search, a number of weapons were found in addition to items which are believed to be suspicious devices. Assessment is currently being carried out in relation to the items.
In the interests of public safety, a cordon has been placed at the scene and neighbouring properties have also been evacuated. A road closure is also in place.
