Detectives are appealing to anyone with any information, who has not yet spoken to the police, to make contact.
During the early hours of Wednesday morning, two people were found with stab wound injuries in Hathern, Loughborough.
A 51-year-old man, of Loughborough, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail.
Leicestershire Police were called at 1.13 am following a report that a man and woman had been injured outside a premises in Wide Lane, Hathern, near to the junction with Church Street.
The man, who is in his 60s, and the woman, who is in her 40s, were both taken to hospital where they currently remain in a stable condition. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Detectives are appealing to anyone with any information, who has not yet spoken to the police, to make contact.
Detective Inspector Esther Scott said: “A man who was arrested during the early hours of this morning in connection with the incident remains in police custody as our enquiries continue. Our current enquiries include analysis of the scene, checking CCTV and speaking to witnesses at the scene.
“If you were in the area during the early hours of this morning and have any information then please make contact with us. If you have any footage such as CCTV or dashcam footage from the area then you should also get in touch with us.
“I understand the incident will have caused concern in the area. Please speak with our officers in the area today and please be assured that a full investigation remains ongoing.”
