A memorial market stall has been set up in Loughborough for a much-loved market trader who died last month.

Tributes have been paid to Arthur Proctor, who died on 31st July 2026 at the age of 81.

Arthur became a familiar face in Loughborough, often found alongside his wife at their brightly decorated trailer, where he welcomed customers, friends and passers-by with his trademark smile.

Beyond his work as a trader, Arthur was described as an important part of the local community. Over the years, he formed lasting friendships with fellow traders and customers.

Charnwood Borough Council shared a video online of Arthur and his wife Georgina sharing stories about their many years attending Loughborough Fair.

As a tribute, a memorial market stall has been set up for Arthur. Loughborough Markets said the stall will be on the markets until Saturday (15th August) for those who want to pay tribute.
