The death is not being treated as suspicious and is being investigated as a road traffic collision.
A public appeal was made by officers yesterday (2 September) regarding the whereabouts of Mark Bird.
The 58-year-old from Thrussington was last seen on the afternoon of Saturday 28 August in Ashby Folville and left on his motorbike to travel to Syston. Enquiries carried out confirmed he never arrived at that location and no-one had had contact with him since. He was reported missing on 1 September.
Police received a call yesterday (2 September) to say a person had been found deceased at the roadside with a motorbike in Broome Lane, East Goscote. Formal identification has now taken place and the person is confirmed as Mark.
