He was arrested on Monday after being stopped on the A5.
A 36-year-old man from Nuneaton has been arrested on suspicion of distraction burglary.
The incident happened in March at an address in the town centre where it was reported that two men came to the victim's door claiming to be debt collectors and demanding money.
They stated the woman in her 30s had to pay £560 within an hour or they would remove items from the property.
While they were at the address it is believed one of the men stole the woman’s purse and the other man tried to take the television.
Enquiries identified the man as a suspect and he was arrested after his car was stopped on the A5 near Nuneaton on Monday 3rd October.
Enquiries are ongoing.
