The taxi driver was parked in a taxi rank in Bridge Street around 8 pm on Thursday 17th March when he was approached by a man.
The man asked the driver if he could take him somewhere before threatening him with what is believed to be a bladed article.
The man took a money bag and electronic equipment from the seat of the taxi and then left.
Officers are looking for a man who is described as white, around 18 years old, approximately 5ft 8in tall, clean-shaven, with short dark hair, was believed to be wearing dark coloured clothing.
Warwickshire Police want to speak to anyone who has either CCTV or doorbell footage of the incident.
