Fire crews from Loughborough and Birstall were sent to put out the flames.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue were sent to the Outwoods in Loughborough as two parts of the woodland were on fire last night.
The first call was received at 19:31 as a field in front of the woods was on fire then four minutes later the crews were told of a fire created by twigs and logs.
An appliance from Loughborough and Birstall’s water carrier attended the fires which Leicestershire Fire and Rescue now believe were started deliberately.
Both fires were put out and have now been handed over to the police to investigate.
