It has been placed at the fire station.
A red plaque was unveiled yesterday at Shepshed Station to celebrate the life of Firefighter Mick Bird.
He died on the 24th September 2006, while on his way from the Station to attend an incident.
The event was organised by local members of the Fire Brigades Union, and attended by members of Mick's family, friends and colleagues, along with many Shepshed residents.
This plaque was funded by the Firefighters' 100 Lottery. Since 2017, the project has created memorials for Firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty.
