East Midlands Railway has announced temporary timetable changes because of the high temperatures expected across the region

For Loughborough, the key point is that the Nottingham–Leicester regional service calls at Loughborough. This means the changes will affect journeys between Nottingham, Loughborough, Barrow-upon-Soar, Sileby, Syston and Leicester.

Wednesday 12 August

  • Customers are advised to check their journey before travelling.

  • Disruption, delays and longer journey times are expected across the EMR network.

  • Regional services between Sheffield and Liverpool will be suspended.

  • If you need to travel, EMR recommends travelling before midday where possible.

Thursday 13 August

  • EMR is advising customers to make essential journeys only.

  • If you do need to travel, try to travel before 12 noon, when temperatures are expected to be lower.

  • Regional services between Nottingham and Leicester will be suspended from 12 noon, affecting passengers travelling via Loughborough.

  • Regional services between Nottingham and Worksop will also be suspended from 12 noon.

  • Other services may face delays, cancellations, reduced speeds and short-notice changes.

🌡️ EMR is making these changes because of the extreme heat and is working with Network Rail to keep services operating safely.

If you're travelling from Loughborough, check your journey immediately before setting off and allow extra time.
