The Great British Spring Clean takes place from the 15th of March to the 31st of March.
Charnwood Borough Council has around 100 litter pickers, high-vis jackets, and litter bags to loan out to residents as part of the Great British Spring Clean.
The Council’s refuse partner, Serco, will pick up the bags of litter collected from the groups and individuals that take part.
Cllr Anne Gray, the Council’s lead member for waste, said: “I am so pleased that we are able to support the community with their litter picking efforts by offering out these free kits on loan.
“We are so proud of Charnwood and are keen to keep it looking its very best for residents and visitors.
“The Council is determined to look after the borough and the environment. We work closely with our partner, Serco to ensure the streets and open spaces are kept clear of any litter.”
The litter picking kits will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis, with residents being urged to register their interest as soon as possible.
Once groups and individuals have completed their litter pick, they are asked to return their kits to the Council to allow more residents to take part.
There will be a maximum of six litter picking kits available per group and the kits can be collected from the Council’s offices, based on Southfields Road, Loughborough.
