The incident happened between J2 for Sapcote and J1 for Leicester.
Emergency Services were called to the southbound carriageway of the M69 just after 6 am today (Tuesday 7 February) after a report of a multiple-vehicle collision.
Seven vehicles were involved in the collision.
A spokesperson from Leicestershire Police said: "One person was taken to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
"Debris from this collision resulted in damage to two vehicles travelling on the opposite carriageway.
"Highways Agency are now dealing with clearing the road."
One fire engine from Hinckley and another from Southern Fire Stations were sent to the scene.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service reported that one person was trapped in a van and that casualties were receiving treatment from East Midlands Ambulance service.
